RPF Strengthens Surveillance Capabilities with Advanced Drone Technology for Mahakumbh Mela-2025
Prayagraj Bureau: Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway, has successfully acquired three Indo Wings Cyberone Pro quadcopter drones, marking a significant advancement in aerial #surveillance capabilities. These Micro UAVs represent a considerable investment of ₹34,35,075 and come with an extensive warranty of up to 30 months, ensuring comprehensive maintenance and support in the critical months leading up to the Mahakumbh Mela in 2025.
To optimize the utilization of these cutting-edge drones, a specialized training session was conducted by the #RPF Zonal Training Center, Subedarganj, from October, 28 to 30, 2024. This session successfully trained 28 personnel, including 19 RPF staff/officers from the Prayagraj division, 5 RPF staff/officers from Lucknow division and 4 personnel from the #GRP. The training focused on maximizing the operational efficiency of the Cyberone Pro drones for tasks such as surveillance, crowd management, and live monitoring during the Mahakumbh Mela.
The Cyberone Pro drones are equipped to handle multiple tasks essential to maintaining security, including capturing high-resolution photos, recording videos, live video streaming, taking screenshots, and performing thermal videography. Each drone features a robust 45 minute flight time, a substantial 128GB storage capacity, and operates at speeds of up to 12 metres/second.
With this addition, the #RPF is poised to deliver enhanced surveillance and crowd management capabilities, ensuring the safety and security of attendees and participants at the #Mahakumbh Mela. These drones represent a commitment by the #NorthCentralRailway to leverage modern technology in support of large-scale events, marking a milestone in public #Safety preparedness.
