SER surpasses scrap sale of Rs. 200 crores

Scrap sale of Rs. 204.4 crore is 67.47% higher than the same period of last year and even 37.61% higher than the proportionate target of Rs. 148.50 crore up to September 2022

Kolkata: Making South Eastern Railway a “Zero Scrap” Railway is one of the mission areas of this zone. Necessary steps are being taken by all the Divisions and Workshops to realise value from sale of unserviceable materials.

South Eastern Railway has crossed the scrap sale figure of Rs. 200 crore on 16.09.2022. The total scrap sale during the period from 1st April, 2022 to 16th September, 2022 has been Rs. 204.4 crore.

Scrap sale of Rs. 204.4 crore is 67.47% higher than the corresponding period of last year and even 37.61% higher than the proportionate target of Rs. 148.50 crore up to September 2022.

This has been achieved through the sale of various kinds of scrap which includes scrap rails, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, condemned coaches, wagons & locos, abandoned masonry structure etc.
