An unknown Woman delivered a baby boy in train and left it in the toilet of train no. 13351, Dhanbad- Allepy at around 8.25 am today.
In an unfortunate incident that took place in Dhanbad-Alleppy Bokaro express, some unidentified woman delivered a baby in the train in B-1 coach and left it in the wash basin of a toilet.
This unusual incident came to light when passengers in Bokaro Express train informed onboard TTE V. Brahma, CTI/VSKP about the baby at around 8.20 hrs after the train had just left Simhachalam station.
The Passengers who heard the baby screaming in the toilet was shocked to see the baby. The TTE reported to the train escorting staff and M. Ramki of RPF post Vishakhapatnam.
Upon receiving this information, the RPF attended the train and rushed the baby to the Divisional Railway Hospital (DRH), Vishakhapatnam where railway Doctors took very good care of the infant. The health of the baby is stable and it has been shifted to KGH for further treatment and care.
The baby will be handed over to the childcare authorities. DRM/Waltair Anup Satpathy complemented all concerned for their prompt action, have announced suitable award for the TTE and also offer to bear the full cost for the upbringing of the child.
“We are monitoring the health of the baby as well as conducting investigation to find out the mother/parents. If the genuine mother/parents volunteer to come forward and own up the child they will be given full financial support for it’s upbringing”, DRM Anup Satpathy told the #Railwhispers.
