Budget 2020-21 allocation for North Central Railway (Pink Book), Salient Points

Total receipt of North Central Railway as per revised estimate is Rs 17636.21 Crores and Budget estimate for earning for 2020-21 has been kept at Rs 19237.44 Crores. Sundry earning estimated for NCR in 2020-21 is 342.61 Crores.

Total expenditure of NCR in 2019-20 as per revised estimate is Rs 11474 Crores and estimated expenditure for 2020-21 is Rs 12395 Crores.

As per revised estimate operating ratio of NCR in 2019-20 is 65.1 which is better than Budget estimate operating ratio of 66.5 as well as last year operating ratio of 68.1 . For 2020-21 railway board has fixed a stiff target of operating ratio of NCR at 64.5 . For Indian railways operating ratio is 97.46 in 2019-20 and targeted at 96.28 for 2020-21.

Following very important sanctioned works get fund allotment, work will be taken/speeded up in 2020-21:

Infrastructure addition has been thrust area for Indian Railways. NCR which carries about 10% of traffic of Indian Railway with just 05% of its asset has also taken steps for substantial improvement/addition of infrastructure to improve mobility on NCR. This is reflected in Pink book 2020-21 for NCR where adequate funds are allocated in ongoing works and many new important works are sanctioned as per following details:
