CBI arrests sub-inspector/RPF red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹70,000 from complainant

Mumbai: Central Bureau of Investigation (#CBI) has arrested a Sub-Inspector of RPF, Mumbai while accepting a bribe of ₹70,000/- from the complainant.

CBI registered a case on a complaint against Sub-Inspector Bablu Kumar of Railway Protection Force (#RPF) posted at Outpost Uran, RPF Thana, Navi Mumbai on allegations that accused demanded a bribe of ₹70,000/- in lieu of release of his trailer.

The complainant Dattatrey Dagadu Kapode had filed an application before the Railway Court for releasing his seized trailer, which is fixed for hearing on 20.07.2024.

The accused Sub-Inspector Bablu Kumar allegedly threatened the complainant that he would not release the trailer even after Court order, if complainant does not pay bribe.

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused Sub-Inspector Bablu Kumar red-handed while accepting bribe of ₹70,000/- from the complainant.

Accused Bablu Kumar was arrested by CBI on 16.07.2024 and has been produced before the competent Court.

The arrested accused Sub-Inspector Bablu Kumar has been remanded to Police Custody up to 19.07.2024 by the Court.

CBI conducted searches at the residential premises of accused at Kalyan, Thane Dist. Maharashtra.
