Railway Board is requested to resume all the trains as precovid era for the amenity of common people

Guwahati: It is seen that Hon’ble Ministers generally invited to flag off long distance trains. Functions are held and wide publicity is given through media. Nothing wrong. But interestingly suburban people of Assam (NBQ-RNY-GHY) got a second service to travel from Guwahati city to places like Rangiya, Nalbari, Barpeta Road and Bongaigaon etc at a convenient time i.e. 8.10 am (first one leaves GHY at 5.00 pm), the users of wayside stations came out to celebrate the first run on October 1, 2016 and offered sweets to the crew members.

It is a section of more than 100 years and people were so much satisfied having a just second option to travel in the morning time. They know the constraints. But taking the chance of Lockdown as well as Rationalized time table 2021, when such an essential local train is listed in the cancelled list of trains, they feel hurt.

Office bearers of the passenger association meeting with PCOM NFR.

Question comes automatically in mind are they, the people of North East Frontier states like Assam equally Indian? No alternative is there for the suburban users. Existing track is certainly not for long distance trains and good trains. Proportionate arrangement should be there. Hence people are in need of resumption of 55818 /15771 both trains without further delay.

RANGIYA is not only a divisional HQ but gateway of north Assam as well as Arunachal Pradesh. Those who want to travel from New Delhi to Dibrugarh (shortest route), Murkeongselek, Itanagar etc are supposed to get down at Rangiya and take the branch line connection from Rangiya. As 12424 Rajdhani Exp has no stop at Rangiya, passengers are forcibly going to Guwahati. Incurring extra money they are to hire a car or to stay at hotels.

Considering all other factors NFR  approved an additional stop at Rangiya in 2016. But Railway Board didn’t take any decision. This time the issue came up again as various organizations resorted to an agitational programme.

After several correspondences between Rangiya Division and NFR Zone, approval for the same has again come and accordingly sent to Railway Board for final sanction. Thus for the second time NFR has sought approval.

People don’t know why Railway Board is keeping mum over such an important issue. All the users are being compelled to go to Guwahati unnecessarily bearing physical, economical torture. Let People of a frontier state also enjoy the fastest mode of Indian Railway.

Whenever passengers are urged for resumption of bread earners trains, answers were either cited as to create a path for goods trains/long distance trains or due to poor patronization, Railway Board cancelled those services. It was rather an insult and blame on commuters.

Assam is already an under served frontier state. Instead of attaching some special considerations, the minimum ROTI-RUZEE provider services have been put in the cancellation list. Passengers have been protesting in a peaceful manner. As GM/NFR has assured them that we are waiting eagerly.

In the GHY-RNY-NBQ section, almost 2.30 lakh local people have been forced to abandon rail travel. All are passing their harrowing times nowadays. Plz let CRB understand the ground reality and pass necessary instructions to GM/NFR to resume precovid essential services soon. They are not asking for any new trains right now. Just resumption.

People are travelling by the most popular train of Assam i.e. MANAS RHINO 05801 (55801) that was running from New Bongaigaon to Guwahati since 1992. Recently it has been extended upto Jagiraod causing much inconvenience to the daily passengers.

It is a rake of 24 GS/CZ coaches that reaches (supposed to reach) Guwahati at 9.15 am. No other local train arrives in Guwahati before this train although people are demanding another one at least to reach Guwahati at around 8 am from Sorbhog.

Anyway, what people say is that all sections of people are to depend upon this commuter train as railway authorities can see the photo herewith.

Long distance trains are being arranged by Railway which is necessary. Thus one can travel from Bihar, West Bengal to Assam easily but, there is not a single train from Srirampur (Assam), Chautara to come to their own state capital Guwahati.

Similarly No local trains from New Bongaigaon to Guwahati via Rangiya (i.e. a suburban section connecting all major towns of lower Assam as well as linking the entire North Bank, Arunachal section i.e. RNY-MZS) from 6.00 am (after dep of 15753) to 4.40 pm (dep 05809).

That means people are being forced not to enjoy rail travel throughout the day. On the other hand Govt of India is incurring crores of rupees in advertisement saying crores crores of fund are given for N E Region. Yes, you have given. Thanks to Modi Govt. Then why are your voters being deprived from a better rail transport system?

Railway tracks are made to carry goods only – question arises – No additional service is considered for local people for the inter district movement within the state. The Govt of India has cancelled their minimum services.

Train 55818, 15771, 55903, 12525 were highly needed services for which they have been screaming for the last 2 years. Series of petitions are sent to GM/NFR by many passengers. Nothing has been done prompting people to become anti incumbent. Hence it is nothing but apathy of the Railway Board as said here since long. Local people are facing harrowing times.

The train no. 55818 GHY-NBQ and train no. 15771 APDJ-GHY should be resumed as early as possible because these two trains are the most essential trains for the local and daily passengers. They are badly suffering despite the division’s consent.

Moreover, surprisingly when up Manas was approaching Kamakhya, Lumding control instead of arranging a clear path between Kamakhya and Guwahati as well as a reception  platform at Guwahati Station, rather allowed to pass one light engine in SL and another Goods train in NL from Kamakhya towards Guwahati.

On the other hand, the Chief Secretary of Assam has instructed not to allow any employees to enter their offices after 9.30 am. It takes minimum 15 minutes to reach Dispur from Paltanbazar hiring an auto. One can perhaps understand the value of 9.15 am i.e. MANAS RHINO arrival time at Guwahati for which passengers are to fight everyday.

A concerted effort is necessary to run day to day activities on the right track. It should not be construed that there will not be any unruly scene which they don’t encourage. It’s their travel right. The Railway Board’s sincere approach is solicited so that suburban people can avail train services for their day to day business also.

Train no. 05801 still naming as special. So late running has also become a special feature of this important train.

Ordinary passenger train numbers are yet to be restored. 55801 is still 05801. It is confusing and has remained problematic rather. The board’s attention is drawn so. Please try restoring it’s original number.

Passengers urge railway authorities, plz go through the circulars issued by the NFR HQs. To manage the path for goods and long distance mail trains, intentionally blaming as poor patronized, the minimum local services had also been cancelled.

Consistently they are requesting to review and resume some important services like 55818, 15771, 55903, 12525 etc. On the other hand the  Vivek express was supposed to be a daily. Not yet done. But to arrange additional rake for the same, Brahmaputra Mail was terminated instantly as per the decision. What was positive was not done and those negatives were given effect. People are suffering. The Railway Board is requested to see and arrange justice for the common people of the frontier state, Assam.

Lots of trains yet to be resumed as per the precovid period. Lakhs of people are crying for that. Once Chairman CEO Railway Board said, “all trains are resumed as per precovid era, only some 50 trains are balanced, and that too resumes within a month”. But that’s not true because as can be seen anywhere on social media people are literally crying for their trains.
