MPs of divisional committee of Ranchi & Chakradharpur held meeting with GM/SER
Kolkata: Members of Parliament (both from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha) of the Divisional Committee comprising of Chakradharpur & Ranchi Divisions of SER held a meeting with Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway at Jamshedpur on 15th September 2022.
Altogether 10 MPs from Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha attended the meeting. The Divisional Committee Meeting was chaired by Bidyut Baran Mahato, Member of Parliament.
The other MPs who attended the meeting were Sunil Kumar Singh, Smt. Geeta Kora, Sanjay Seth, Jyotirmay Singh Mahato, Nitesh Ganga Deb, Ms. Chandrani Murmu, Smt. Mamata Mohanta, Samir Oraon and Aditya Prasad.
Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway welcomed the Members of Parliament and thanked them for their consistent support and cooperation. MPs appreciated the overall performance of SER and assured their cooperation for the smooth functioning of the railway.
During the session, MPs advised the railway authority on various issues associated with train services, stoppages, cleanliness, expeditious completion of railway projects etc for the benefit of the passengers.
They have also offered their valuable suggestions for development of railway infrastructure over Ranchi and Chakradharpur Division.
MPs laid emphasis on several passenger amenity works at different stations and restoration of Pre-Covid trains with usual stoppages.
Discussions were also held on construction and completion of new lines, Road overbridges, underpass, increase in frequency of trains, extension of service, up-gradation of stations etc.
The General Manager apprised the MPs of the performance of South Eastern Railway, both in freight and passenger sector for the current financial year. GM said that freight loading is consistently showing an upward trend and SER is giving special emphasis on coal loading.
She also highlighted the services in respect of passenger amenities and environment friendly measures adopted by South Eastern Railway.
General Manager stated that the suggestions offered by the MPs for development of passenger amenities and railway infrastructure would be reviewed with paramount importance.
Vijay Kumar Sahu, Divisional Railway Manager, Chakradharpur, Pradeep Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Ranchi and all Principal Heads of the Departments of South Eastern Railway attended the meeting.
