CP-2 broken in the running loco in between UMB-SBJ section

We have got a late report about a loco accident on dated 05.01.2021, Train No. T.NPSB, Loco no. 34026, where a loco CP-2 was suddenly broken in between UMB-SBJ section of Ambala Division, Northern Railway.

The concerned loco was from Etarasi loco Shed

Case History

At 09:40 hrs M/L CNL reported train stopped after passing UBC advance starter signal.

Talk with LP; he reported blast sound observed from loco.

Loco Pilot at once panto lowered and stopped train with emergency brake at KM no. 270/31.

Loco Pilot checked loco and found CP-2 broken from its base and entangled in loco under frame and all TF oil also drained on track.

DEE/OP/UMB with SSE/RSO/UMB reached at site and ordered Ambala ART truck to clear block section.

Detail enquiry is going on that how this unusual incident happened when loco was scheduled even about two months before.
