Rajkot Division of Western Railway has entered the Electric Traction Club

Rajkot Division of Western Railway has entered the Electric Traction Club on 10th Wednesday, June 2020 with successful operation of first train KIIP/PPSP (Double Stack Container) Palanpur to Botad.

Rajkot Division thankfully acknowledges the contributions of Team of Railway Electrification in building the infrastructure and PCEE/WR for immense help in creating the necessary set up to enable it.

Divisional team comprising of Electrical/TRD, S&T, Operating, Mechanical, Personnel and Engineering have contributed to make it possible.

First Electric Double stack container Train from Palanpur to Botad, Ahmedabad, Rajkot & Bhavnagar Para Divisions of Western Railway.

The electric train has moved from Palanpur to Botad via Mahesana (Group 187), Viramgam (Group 213), Surendranagar (Group 212) and reached Botad successfully at around 11.45 Hrs.

Total run around 270 RKM.

This is probably the first loaded Double stack container train on Electric Traction with High Rise pantos in the history of Indian Railways.
