Railway Ministry have taken the decision of selling of 23 colonies on Western Railway
This unplanned decision will result in utter confusion and the Developer/RLDA will share the profit at the cost of Railwaymen -J.G.Mahurkar
Mumbai: The Railway Ministry have taken the painful decision of selling of 23 Railway colonies on Western Railway for commercial exploitation of Railway land, whereby the developer will avail huge thousands of crores of profit by way of FSI and making money, said Dada J. G. Mahurkar, General Secretary, Western Railway Mazdoor Sangh and Vice President, NFIR in a press statement.
He said, the Railway Ministry has taken this abrupt decision which will cause mass dislocation of families of Railwaymen and education of their children will also hamper at large. The worst part of the decision is that, no alternate accommodation has been provided by Railway Land Development Authority (RLDA) / developer to Railway employees.
Even the Penal Rent as mention in MOU to be given by the developer/RLDA is also absent. This unplanned decision will result in utter confusion and the developer/RLDA will share the profit at the cost of Railwaymen, Dada Mahurkar said.
