MOBD/RlyBd visits SER HQs and reviews the performance of operating & commercial deptt.

Kolkata: Ravinder Goyal, Member Operations & Business Development (#MOBD), #RailwayBoard visited South Eastern Railway (#SER) Headquarters, Garden Reach on 18.07.2024 and held high level meeting to review the performance of #Operating and #Commercial Departments of South Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway and Metro Railway.

Deepak Kumar Jha, Principal Chief Operations Manager, SER, Upinder Singh, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, SER and other senior Traffic Officers were present in the meeting held with South Eastern Railway.

MOBD Mr Goyel had detailed discussion with Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager, South Eastern Railway regarding different ongoing projects and laid emphasis on timely completion of projects like new line, doubling, third line, road over bridge, passenger amenity works etc. Discussions were also held to enhance passenger safety and security.

During the Meeting, Mr Goyal reviewed the different aspects of #Railway-operations and laid special emphasis on #safety, #punctuality, #freight loading and #earnings. He expressed satisfaction about the all round performance of SER and stressed on the timely completion of developmental works.

Detailed discussions were held on achieving the freight loading target in 2024-25, increasing the maximum permissible speed of freight trains, completion of new line/doubling works, different traffic facility works etc.

Earlier, Deepak Kumar Jha, Principal Chief Operations Manager, South Eastern Railway apprised Member, Operations & Business Development, Railway Board about the achievements and key activities of SER in the year 2023-24.

In the last financial year, SER loaded 211.60 million tonnes of freight which was the best ever loading performance of this railway since its trifurcation in 2003.

In the current financial year, SER has loaded 52.33 million tonnes in the first quarter, an incremental growth of 3.75%.

Mr Goyal suggested some improvement measures during the meeting and appreciated the overall performance of South Eastern Railway.

Later, Ravinder Goyal, Member Operations & Business Development also held meetings with #EasternRailway and #MetroRailway at SER Headquarters to review the performance of respective zones. Saumitra Biswas, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Eastern Railway, Soumitra Majumdar, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Eastern Railway and Lakheswar Saikia, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Metro Railway and other senior officers were present.
