Hardship facing by the Contractors because of the harassing policies of Indian Railway
GRCA & IRIPA aims to promote and foster feelings of contractors unity, cooperation and even look after the welfare activities of the contractors and address their grievances
Ahmedabad: The 10th national railway contractor meet was organised by Gujarat Railway Contractors Association (GRCA) on July 31, 2022 at Hotel Narayani Heights, Ahmedabad.
This railway contractor meet was focused on the present harassing policies of the government for infrastructure projects of Indian Railways where contractors are facing too much hardships.
Around 400 contractors from all over India including all office bearers and committee members of GRCA and IRIPA spared their time and resources to attend and to contribute in the Meet ensuring maximum participation. The event witnessed members from all the Railway Zones.
The agenda for this meet was as under-
1. GST neutrality for the contractors for the contracts awarded before July 2017.
2. Reimbursement of increase in GST rates from 12% to 18% and 5% to 12%.
3. Discussion on General Conditions of Contract (GCC) April 2022.
4. Discussion on various other issues for the Railway contacts.
5. Hardships being faced by the Contractors on a day to day basis.
The Indian Railway Infrastructure Providers Association (IRIPA), understands the views and issues with General Conditions of Contract (GCC) put forward by members and they are then put before the Railway Board by the core committee of the IRIPA.
In this meeting, the diverse and dynamic group of speakers and panelists provided in-depth insight on various aspects and members from all over India graced the event highlighting true unity and harmony irrespective of dissimilar cultures, caste and religion.

This meeting facilitated discussions about the problems of the contractors, their rights towards administration, and advising them about other technical and non technical know-how.
The event was attended by chairman, GRCA, Samir Makwana, vice chairman and president Ahmedabad division, GRCA Naresh Patel, vice president west zone IRIPA Praween Gulati, secretary GRCA Arun Tantia, president Vadodara division Ramesh Gajjar, committee members Rajiv Gulati, Rajesh Patel, Ezaz Ansari, Anique Ansari, Paresh Patel and many others.
