CBI arrests DyCMM/NR in a bribery case of Rs. 80,000

Rs. 32.10 lakh cash recovered during searches

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Alok Mishra, Deputy Chief Material Manager (DyCMM/C&W), Alambagh, Lucknow Division, Northern Railway, at Lucknow and two private persons in a bribery of Rs. 80,000/-.

A case was registered against DyCMM/C&W, Alambagh, Northern Railway, Lucknow; two private persons and other unknown Public Servants &  Private Persons.

It was alleged that the said public servant was demanding and accepting illegal gratification from suppliers for awarding contract for supply of materials, clearing of bills etc.

It was further alleged that the said public servant directed a private person to bring cash for clearing the pending bills of other private person amounting to Rs.70 Lakh (approx).

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused after the delivery of bribe amount of Rs. 80,000/- to said public servant Alok Mishra, DyCMM/C&W, Northern Railway, Lucknow, who is the Indian Railway Service of Stores (IRSS) officer of 2006 batch.

Searches are being conducted at various places in Lucknow which has so far led to recovery of cash of Rs. 32,10,000/- (approx) and other incriminating documents and digital devices from the residence of said DyCMM.

All the three arrested accused will be produced before the Competent Court.
