SER MAKES ELABORATE ARRANGEMENTS FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION TO TACKLE THE FORTHCOMING RUSH
Kolkata: South Eastern Railway has already launched the COVID-19 vaccination session at all its four divisions as well as at headquarters for its frontline staff viz. health care personnel, security personnel (RPF), loco pilots, guards, etc as well as retired employees.
Till 30th March, altogether 11,016 doses of the vaccine have been administered at SER Central Hospital, Garden Reach and four Divisional Hospitals at Kharagpur, Adra, Ranchi and Chakradharpur.
It has further been decided that with effect from 1st April, 2021, employees above 45 years of age will be vaccinated.
Special arrangements with appropriate COVID-19 health precautions have been made to tackle the anticipated rush at all the vaccination centres of SER.
Employees have been requested to register themselves at the Cowin Portal (www.cowin.gov.in) and report to the convenient centre.
All endeavours are being made to encourage the employees to get vaccinated as it is safe and life saving.
The beneficiaries are being administered the Covishield Vaccine at present and there is positive response from the employees for vaccination.
All the recipients of the vaccine are being strictly monitored in accordance with COVID-19 health protocols.
After vaccination all are being observed for considerable period of time for any adverse reaction.
Even after vaccination, employees are being advised to maintain Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) i.e wearing mask, frequent hand washing and maintenance of social distancing/avoidance of crowded places.
A special cell of doctors has been formed to monitor the whole process and to build up awareness amongst railway employees.
These sessions of vaccination are being carried out as per guidelines issued by the Government of India and even non railway frontline workers are also being vaccinated at all the COVID-19 vaccination centres of SER.
